The National Republican Congressional Committee is about to pump $720,000 into the special election for Florida’s 13th Congressional District, says a source with knowledge about the CD13 race.

The NRCC will be buying up as much broadcast and cable television ad space as possible over the next three weeks in the run up to early ballots being mailed to tens of thousands of Pinellas voters.

Earlier today, it was reported that House Majority PAC is preparing a $650,000 television campaign to back Alex Sink campaign against Republican David Jolly.

Both of these buys add to outside money pouring into the race, on pace to be the most expensive in the history of the Pinellas County district, notes Alex Leary of the Tampa Bay Times. This morning the DCCC announced its own ad, highlighting Jolly’s work as a lobbyist.

All told, at least $1,575,000 was committed to be spent in the CD 13 race — just today — by these three outside interests.
