Bill Young to collect personal products for veterans at Clearwater event today
House District 68 GOP candidate Bill Young is asking for the generosity of friends and supporters, by donating personal products used in care packages for U.S. Marines deployed overseas.
Young will collect the items —a variety of non-perishable items to make soldiers lives a little easier — with a drive starting 5:30 p.m. today at Quaker Steak & Lube, 10400 49th St. North in Clearwater.
Among the products requested: candy, magazines, gift cards, batteries, playing cards, towels, blankets and travel toothbrushes.
Young, who faces incumbent Democrat State Rep. Dwight Dudley in November, has vowed to continue supporting issues important to veterans, the same work that marked the career of his father—former U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young.
District 68 covers parts of Pinellas County, Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg.
