Bob Buckhorn crowns Foursquare mayor of Tampa

He was just crowned mayor himself, but Bob Buckhorn is already passing the title along. Well, sort of.

Buckhorn signed a proclamation namingbusinessman JasonCyrtheFoursquare mayor of Tampa, reports Libby Hendren of 10 News.

Foursquare is a social networking tool that lets your friends know exactly where you are.If you check-in online to a place more than anyone else, you become the “mayor.”

That’s what happened to Jason Cyr. He won today’s competition by staying the mayor of Sail Pavilion at the Riverwalk at exactly 2:04 this afternoon.

Foursquare began in Tampa last year as a way to celebrate small businesses and communities.
