Republican Candidate John Legg today announced that former St. Petersburg Mayor and longtime community leader Rick Baker has endorsed him in his bid for the newly-drawn Senate District 17 seat, which includes parts of South Pasco and Northwest Hillsborough Counties.

“I give John Legg my endorsement for Senate District 17,” said former Mayor Baker. “Growing the economy and producing jobs have always been important to him, and John has worked tirelessly to create more jobs, reduce government regulations and simplify the process for new business creation. John will be an unwavering voice of support for our communities to continue to grow and develop.”

“I am honored to have former Mayor Rick Baker’s support for my campaign,” said Legg. “He truly understands what it takes to cultivate success in a community, and like Rick, I am dedicated to revitalizing our area’s economic structure and quality of life. By decreasing inefficient government regulation and rewarding our business creators and risk takers, I plan to make our community and state stronger.”
