Kristen Bridges promoted to Senior VP of Bascom Communications; Lyndsey Cruley rejoins firm
BCC is a premier Florida-based communications consulting and public affairs firm, specializing in executing winning messaging and public relations plans for trade associations, coalitions and corporations, as well as candidate, referendum and issue advocacy campaigns.
Kristen Bridges, who has been with BCC since opening its doors, has been promoted to senior vice president. Bridges will continue her role as a lead communications consultant for Bascom and will now also oversee the Web & Graphic Design Division and serve as a member of BCC’s senior leadership team. Specializing in public relations, legislative communications and new media, Bridges develops and implements successful communications strategies for some of BCC’s most high-profile clients.
Prior to joining BCC, Bridges was a communications consultant for an international public relations and strategic communications firm, where she serviced corporate, private sector and campaign clients. In addition, Bridges served as the deputy press secretary for the 2009 John Thrasher Special Election Campaign, 2008 Peter Boulware Campaign and the late Senator Jim King’s 2006 re-election campaign, where she coordinated all media efforts and was the lead speech writer. Bridges also worked for a Tallahassee-based public relations firm, where she serviced corporate and private sector clients, focusing on media buying, event planning and strategic communications campaigns.
Bridges, who grew up in Naples, Fla., is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and concentrations in Business Administration and Tourism.
Lyndsey Cruley re-joins BCC on August 1, 2012, as a vice president, rounding out its leadership team and joining the consulting team of Sarah Bascom, Kristen Bridges and Celina Parker. Cruley will be a lead communications consultant at BCC, focusing on the firm’s public affairs and political communications practice and will also serve as a member of BCC’s senior leadership team. Cruley is a battle-tested communications and messaging professional who has advised leaders in both chambers of the Florida Legislature, as well as candidates across the State of Florida, private sector companies and trade organizations.
Most recently, Cruley served as the communications director for the Florida Senate under Senate President Mike Haridopolos. In this role, Cruley served as the key spokesperson for the Florida Senate and worked closely with Florida’s Capitol Press Corps and media outlets throughout the state. Prior to that, Cruley worked in the Florida House of Representatives, where she served as the press secretary for the House leadership team, coordinating all communications and leadership team interfaces with the media. Additionally, she coordinated all media for the more than two dozen joint public redistricting meetings across Florida.
Cruley, who grew up in Bradenton, Fla., is a graduate of the Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Political Science.
“I am very proud of our team of professional consultants and am very excited to welcome Lyndsey Cruley back to our growing team,” said Sarah Bascom, president and founder of BCC. “Lyndsey is a powerhouse when it comes to media relations and legislative communications strategies, and her recent experience and hands-on training in the Florida Senate and Florida House will undoubtedly help our clients navigate through any challenge.”
“I also congratulate Kristen Bridges on a much-deserved promotion. Kristen’s years of experience and dogged determination have led her to the top of our leadership team and have helped our clients meet and exceed their goals. Kristen has been with BCC since the very beginning, and we are excited to see her continue to grow in her new role at BCC,” added Bascom.
“Since opening our doors, we have continued to grow as professionals, focusing our niche firm on political communications, issue advocacy, legislative communications and advocacy-centered public relations. We are proud of the results we have delivered for our clients, but more importantly, we continue to be humbled by the responsibility and trust our clients instill in us year after year. I believe that our success stems from loving what we do and working together to raise the bar when we get close to it,” concluded Bascom.
