State Senate candidate Dorothy Hukill continued to display impressive fundraising strength, topping Democrat Frank Bruno in the most recent F3 fundraising period.

Hukill raised $43,850 in the three-week period between July 21st and August 9th, increasing her overall amount raised to $331,561. Bruno took in just $18,420 over the same period, less than half of Hukill’s total, and continues to trail Hukill in both overall contributions and cash-on-hand heading into the campaign’s final months.

Hukill also continued to shore up support from small-dollar donors. Despite raising more than her opponent in overall contributions, Hukill again signed on more small-dollar donors and relied less on $500 checks than her opponent.

“We’re so thankful for all the support we’ve received in this race,” Hukill said. “I look forward to serving my friends and neighbors as their voice in the Florida Senate.”

The next financial report, which will be the first to include the post-primary period, is due September 21st.

Hukill is the Republican candidate for State Senate, District 8. District 8 covers most of Volusia County and large portions of Lake County and Marion County. Since 2004, Hukill has served as State Representative for District 28, which significantly overlaps Senate District 8.
