Cook Political Reports has updated its rating of the CD 26 race — pitting Democratic challenger against Republican incumbent David Rivera — from Lean Republican to Toss-Up.
According to Garcia’s campaign, “the change reflects the rapidly evolving dynamics in the race, with the Democratic candidate up by nine points in a recent poll and a Republican mired in scandal. Rivera … was re-named to CREW’s Most Corrupt Members of Congress list on Thursday.”
CREW referred to Rivera as having “acted in a manner that brings discredit to the House.”
