Several political heavyweights will turn out Saturday morning to encourage early voting in the special election for House District 36 where Republican Bill Gunter and rival Democrat Amanda Murphy are facing off to replace former state Sen. Mike Fasano, who resigned the seat in August.
Attorney General Pam Bondi celebrates the final 72 hours of the HD 36 campaign with Gunter at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, 6438 Ridge Road (corner of Congress Street) in Port Richey. House Speaker Will Weatherford and Rep. Richard Corcoran will also join Bondi and Gunter.
They will be there to encourage volunteers and supporters as they begin the final 72-hour effort get-out-the-vote before Tuesday’s ballot.
“It is an honor to be joined by respected leaders who work tirelessly for our community,” Gunter said in a statement. “I am excited to work with them as a voice and advocate who will take on special interests for Pasco families.”
A little later that morning, Fasano hosts an early vote rally for Murphy. The current Pasco Tax Collector will greet voters at the West Pasco Government Center Early Vote location, 8731 Citizens Drive, Suite 110 in New Port Richey. Fasano’s event begins 10:30 a.m.
Early voting is at the center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
