While Steve MacNamara is half-jokingly touting John Thrasher as a possible Lieutenant Governor candidate, speculation about Representative Dana Young being at the top of Scott’s list continues to stir.

Yesterday, Young was seen having a private lunch with Gov. Scott at South Tampa hotspot Pane Rustica. Might the topic of Young-for-LG have come up? Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

As for hard news, look for Scott to tap Young to replace Jennifer Carroll on the Florida Defense Support Task Force.

Both the lunch and the appointment will do little to quiet talk of Young as a possible replacement for Carroll in the Lieutenant Governor’s office.
