A day after his company declares bankruptcy, AK Desai replaced on State Board of Education

It’s a really bad week for AK Desai.

A day after his Universal Health Care Group declared bankruptcy, Florida GOP finance chair Akshay “AK” Desai was replaces on the State Board of Education by Governor Rick Scott.

Scott on Thursday reappointed John Padget of Key West to the Florida Board of Education and named two newcomers to the board. Dr. Ada G. Armas of Coral Gables replaces Roberto Martinez, who was not eligible to serve another term. John Colon of University Park, a senior vice president with Wells Fargo Advisors, replaces Desai.

Desai’s term was not due to expire until 2014.
