Anitere Flores raises more than $113K in final two weeks of September

Anitere Flores ended September strong, after a few slow fundraising weeks.

State records show Flores raised a combined $113,475 — $81,475 for her official campaign and $32,000 for her political committee — between Sept. 17 and Sept. 30. Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell raised a combined $65,950 — $21,950 to her official campaign and $44,000 to her political committee — during the same time period.

Records show Flores received $1,000 contributions from the Florida Freedom Fund, Protect Florida Families, Sunshine State Conservatives, and NFIB-Florida Safe Trust. She also received a $12,000 in-kind donation from the Florida Republican Senatorial Committee, which is tasked with helping elect Republicans to the Florida Senate, for consulting during the two-week period.

Her campaign spent $129,148 during the same time period, including $61,004 to Miami-based PR Concepts, Inc. for a media buy and $28,118, also to PR Concepts, Inc., for mailers.

All told, her campaign has raised more than $1 million. She ended the reporting period with $190,109 in her campaign account.

“Floridians for Strong Leadership” raised $32,000 between Sept. 17 and Sept. 30. That includes $12,500 from Pharmaceutical Research and Manufactures of America, and $10,000 from Costa Nursery Farms.

The committee spent $76,670 during the two-week period, all of which went toward direct mail services.

The committee has raised $975,727, and ended the month with $261,766 cash-on-hand.

Records show Mucarsel-Powell raised $21,950 in the final two weeks of September. That includes $1,000 from Emily’s List Federal Fund, and Buckner and Miles P.A. She received a $3,269 in-kind donation from the Florida Democratic Party for campaign staff costs.

The campaign spent $107,717 during the same time period. That includes $97,987 to a Washington, D.C.-based firm for direct mail and mailers.

Mucarsel-Powell raised $140,740 since jumping into the race in June. The campaign ended the month with $24,197 cash-on-hand.

“Together for a Better Florida,” the political committee backing Mucarsel-Powell, raised $44,000 during the final two weeks of September. The committee spent $1,500 during the same two-week period.

The committee has raised $52,050, and ended the month with $50,501 cash on hand.

The newly created District 39 seat leans Democratic, and includes Monroe County and parts of Miami-Dade County.
