The cost of convenience on Florida highways is going up. SunPass users on Florida’s Turnpike and many of the state’s other toll roads will have to pay a little more starting at 1 a.m. Tuesday. The increase — about 1.5 percent or few cents at most toll plazas — comes from a 2007 state law allowing annual adjustments of SunPass and toll-by-plate rates tied to changes in the consumer price index. Florida’s Water and Land Legacy, the group coordinating constitutional Amendment 1, a measure to boost land-conservation efforts, raised $225,098 in May for a total of about $2.9 million, according to the most recent filings with the state Division of Elections.
