From March on Politics: Former Hillsborough County Commissioner Brian Blair may have a public name, but that hasn’t translated into campaign donations for the District 47 state House race.
For the first three months of this year, Blair raised about $7,300, compared to first-quarter campaign fund-raising front-runner James Grant, who raised $37,815 during that period.
Blair, who began raising funds since last fall, has raised a total of $19,080. The first quarter of this year is the first time Grant has raised funds. Grant is a Tampa native and an attorney with The Grant Law Group, a firm that specializes in civil and business litigation, criminal defense, estate planning and probates and trusts.
But while Grant raised the most this quarter, fellow Republican Irene Guy, a retired Verizon executive, has raised the most during the campaign so far. Guy, who brought in $13,037 this quarter, has raised $46,673 since last fall, not counting a $5,000 loan she made to her campaign. To continue reading, click here.
