Charlie Reed, Chancellor Emeritus of both the California State University system and State University System of Florida, will speak to the Economic Club of Florida at noon on Friday, April 19, in A2-A3 of the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center. Media are invited to cover his presentation: “Higher Education Benefits to Individual/Society.”
Dr. Reed is Chancellor Emeritus of the 23-campus California State University system, the country’s largest system of higher education with nearly 450,000 students, 46,000 faculty and staff, and an annual budget of nearly $5 billion dollars. Before joining the California State University, Dr. Reed served as chancellor of the State University System of Florida and earlier, as chief of staff to the governor of Florida.
The Economic Club of Florida was founded in 1977 and acts as a forum for a roster of distinguished speakers, including diplomats, Presidential candidates and leaders of business and finance. The club presents programs once or twice a month.
