Last evening, May 10, the Tampa Republican Club hosted a State Representative, District 57 Republican Candidates’ Debate & Straw Poll. The winner of the straw poll following the debate is south Tampa attorney Dana Young.
Guest Moderator, Rob Lorei, Managing Editor of Florida This Week – WEDU-TV (PBS) conducted the forum for members and guests. All three Republican candidates, including C. Todd Marks, Dan Molloy, and Dana Young, participated in the debate held at Sam Seltzer’s Steakhouse in Tampa.
“Once again, the members and guests of the Tampa Republican Club were excited by the participation of all three Republican candidates in this debate,” said Jason Rodriguez, president of the Tampa Republican Club. “Based on the performances of Todd Marks, Dan Molloy, and Dana Young, I do not have any doubt that the seat presently held by Rep. Faye Culp will remain Republican.”
“Even though all three candidates did a fine job, Dana Young won overwhelmingly in the straw vote immediately following the debate, demonstrating she is both adept at issues important to the District 57 constituents and articulating her message to the voters, ” said Rodriguez. “The Tampa Republican Club wishes to extend Ms. Young congratulations.”
