David Dees, who spent four years as director of law enforcement for the Florida Department of Transportation was one of five appointees named by Governor Rick Scott to the Children’s Services Council of Martin County. Dees retired from his state job in 2011 to run as a Republican for Sheriff of the Martin County Sheriff Office, where he had previously worked for 28 years. The sheriff’s contest was won last year by former state Rep. William Snyder, a Republican from Stuart.
