As Nov. 8 quickly approaches, Chris Latvala is holding what his campaign says will be the last fundraiser of this election cycle for Pinellas County’s House District 67.

The Clearwater Republican, who faces Democrat David Vogel, hosts the event Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Island Way Grill, 20 Island Way in Clearwater.

Latvala, a first-term House lawmaker and son of longtime state Sen. Jack Latvala, is coming off a well-received appearance at a Suncoast Tiger Bay candidate forum last week.

At the forum, Mitch Perry of FloridaPolitics.com reports Latvala spoke on a variety of issues, including a blast at the city of St. Petersburg for recent wastewater spills in surrounding waterways after Hurricane Hermine.

“As far as the dumping that’s going on in St. Petersburg,” Latvala said, “the city administration is still is not being truthful to the extent of what is going or what happened, but it’s unconscionable what happened.”
