For most people, organizing a multi-city walk from Key West to the Capitol would be plenty enough. For most, the stress of organizing literally hundreds of volunteers, in places as disparate as Palm Beach and Perry, would check the “I’m kind of busy” box.
But Lauren Book is not “most people.”
She is in the Big Apple this week promoting the release of her second book, Lauren’s Kingdom – a children’s book designed to help kids spot the signs of abuse and know what steps to take to prevent and report it. As part of the rollout, she was also featured on Huffington Post Live, along with other victims of sexual abuse, sharing her story and the inspiration behind her latest pub.
I have followed her career rather closely (It’s hard to believe this already is her sixth cross-state walk!) and I must say she is clearly gaining confidence in her ever-expanding role as child advocate and now second-time author.
Stay tuned … book signing is this Saturday, March 7, with the official release on Monday. As a father of the most amazing kid ever born, Michelle and I will be ordering our own copy – a copy we intend to have signed by the author.
