Kevin Cate goes cold-turkey on the #Sayfie hashtag

Prominent Democratic consultant Kevin Cate announced today he is going cold-turkey on using the #Sayfie hashtag.

“I’ve been asked why I don’t hashtag #sayfie. It’s pretty much the same reason I don’t hashtag #nbcpolitics or similar promotional hashtags – I don’t see much value.

… For me, the off chance of a tweet appearing at the bottom of the Sayfie Review ticker simply isn’t worth the expense – 7 characters.”

Like any good friend, I am going to help Kevin as he navigates this withdrawal. I’m joining him on avoiding the #Sayfie hashtag, although I doubt the hashtag’s namesake will notice.

Traffic to SaintPetersBlog.com, mind you, was not at all impacted.
