Let it be known that David Johnson is a man who pays off his bets

The bettors: David Johnson, former executive director of the Republican Party of Florida and political consultant extraordinaire; Peter Schorsch, also a political consultant, just not as extraordinary. 

The bet: Which presidential candidate would win Florida’s 29 electoral votes. Johnson had Romney, I had Obama.

The wager: A Reichelderfer Prime Filet at Avenue Eats and Drinks in Tallahassee.

The winner: You know the answer to that question. However, let it be known that David Johnson is a man who gracefully paid his bet, supping me with food and drink for three-and-a-half hours. All the while, the sparkling Christina Johnson was there for the ride. Even the man for whom Avenue’s Prime Filet is named, Marc Reichelderfer himself, stopped by the table.
