Pasco County Commission Chairman Ted Schrader was arrested Sunday and spent the night in jail, charged with domestic battery after an argument with his wife turned physical.
Schrader, 57, was arrested at his San Antonio home at 9:24 p.m. Sunday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the arrest report, Schrader and his wife of 30 years got into an argument on Friday night.
The following morning, deputies said Schrader went into his wife’s bedroom, where she was laying in bed, and when she turned away from him to avoid a confrontation, he grabbed her wrist and leg and pulled her against him, the report said.
Deputies said Schrader later admitted to going into her bedroom and grabbing her left upper arm while trying to speak to her.
The report said Schrader’s wife had bruises on her left wrist, but she declined medical treatment.
Schrader was arrested and taken to Land O’ Lakes Detention Center, where he remains without bond.
