Compass Management and Consulting, a health care association and special event management firm based in Jacksonville, has named Judi Spann, APR, CPRC, Senior Director of Communications, Marketing and Foundation Relations.
In her new position, Spann will direct communications and fundraising activities for the company, including the medical societies it serves: the National Lipid Association, the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, the Florida Obstetric and Gynecologic Society, the American Society of Preventive Cardiology and several others.
Spann is a former communications director for the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Department of Health and the Department of State during the Crist administration.
She most recently served as Senior Public Relations Counselor at Salter Mitchell, a full-service public relations agency in Tallahassee.
Prior to that she was a senior director at the Florida Institute of CPAs, Assistant VP of Public Relations at the Florida State University Foundation and Director of Communications for the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. She will be relocating to Jacksonville from Tallahassee with her husband, Bill, who is CEO of a trade association, but will return to Tallahassee frequently for legislative issues.
