According to exclusive poll results obtained by this blog, Republican Congressman Bill Young holds a 12- point lead over Democratic state Senator Charlie Justice. Young leads Justice 45% – 33% according to this poll taken on March 17 & 18 and has a margin of error of 4.9%. Keep in mind, this is not my poll, so I cannot verify the polls’ results, but my source for this information is from the same source that provided the spot-on polling data during the St. Petersbug Mayoral Race.
A 14-point lead is about where I’d put the race at this point anyway, although I believe Justice may be a point or two closer than what this poll indicates. The challenge for Justice remains convincing voters to turn away from an elected official they have supported for decades.
The Favorable/Unfavorable breakdown supports this position as both candidates have relatively strong Fav/Unfav ratios:
