Today, Scott Plakon’s campaign announced the endorsement of Seminole County Sheriff Don Eslinger.
“I’m pleased to stand with Scott Plakon as he seeks to represent the citizens of Florida House District 29. As our agency has fought to keep illegal gambling and the crime that comes with it out of our neighborhoods, Scott worked tirelessly in Tallahassee to provide better tools for law enforcement to solve the problem. When Scott saw loopholes in Florida’s anti-stalking law, he went to work to change it. We and other authorities are now better equipped to protect families and to stop stalkers who threaten and sometimes carry out physical harm. In every area, Scott has been a valuable partner to us as we do our best to keep Seminole County safe.”
Don Eslinger has served as the Seminole County’s chief law enforcement officer since 1991. He is the longest continuously serving Seminole County Sheriff since the founding of the county in 1913. He is widely credited with modernizing the agency of over 1,250 sworn and civilian employees and keeping the county’s crime rate among the lowest in Central Florida.
“It’s hard to name a more respected leader in Seminole County than Sheriff Eslinger” said Plakon. “I’m thankful to have his support as we continue our outreach to the voters of District 29.”
