U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) issued the following statement regarding today’s U.S. Senate debate between Marco Rubio and Governor Charlie Crist:

“Like many Republicans across the country, I watched today’s debate with great interest. With every passing day, my support for Marco Rubio grows stronger and more enthusiastic. Today’s debate showed exactly why more and more Republicans are excited by the conservative renewal that’s building in Florida because of Marco’s candidacy.

“Once again, Marco outlined the deeply held principles and conservative vision that make him a trusted advocate on behalf of taxpayers and limited government ideals.

“This morning, he delivered a powerful argument about the choice voters face this year – are we going to make the necessary decisions to remain an exceptional nation, or are we going to cave in to the dangerous big government agenda being rammed through Washington by President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid? I know where I stand. I know where Marco stands. And I’m confident today’s debate will give Floridians even more reasons to stand with Marco.”
