Waterfront Parks Centennial celebration Thursday
City Council has declared 2010 to be the Waterfront Parks Centennial Year and St. Petersburg Preservation is sponsoring a number of fun and free events to celebrate the centennial. The second in a series entitled “Perspectives on the Parks” includes a performance by renown singer Sharon Scott followed by a panel discussion looking back at the history of segregation in St. Petersburg and how it affected who could use the waterfront parks.
