The Raven has brought its last vision.
These visions have come through fleeting text messages to Game of Thrones fans subscribed at threeeyedraven.com. Over the past months the visions have included vague clips of popular characters like Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen.
Most of the clips have been just a few seconds long. There hasn’t even been talking.
This latest clip, however, contains just two characters, but an entire conversation.
In the final text-message teaser, Jon Snow and Mance Rayder, the King beyond the Wall, are sitting, presumably somewhere very cold considering their garb, having a very, very intense conversation. Actually, Mance is sitting. Jon is standing.
“You’ve spent your life convincing 90 clans to come together for the first time in history,” Jon says to Mance. He continues explaining all of the different clans, even giants, who have united under Mance’s rule.
“Your life’s work uniting them. You didn’t do it for power. You didn’t do it for glory. You brought them together to save them because none of them would survive the winter, not if they’re north of the wall. Isn’t their survival more important than your pride,” Jon continues calmly.
And then after careful consideration and a kind of scary grimace, Mance says just four word, “Pride. F*ck my pride.”
When we last saw Jon Snow and Mance Rayder in the final episode of Game of Thrones last season, Mance was taken prisoner after Jon Snow was trying to negotiate a truce at the Wall. Throughout the season it became increasingly clear that there was more at stake North of the Wall than just giants and Wildlings.
The next season starts April 12.
