Voting in the first-round of TallyMadness — the online competition to determine Florida’s “best” lobbyist — ends at midnight tonight.
The winners of the 32 first-round match-ups will be first announced in Tuesday’s edition of Sunburn, my morning read of what’s hot in Florida politics. Second-round voting will begin at noon and last through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.
More than 110,000 votes have been cast so far in TallyMadness, including more than 7,000 votes in the Tracey Mayernick vs. Scott Ross donnybrook.
Several match-up are still neck-and-neck, including #1 seed Brian Ballard’s face-off with #16 Marc Reichelderfer. Another #16 seed making a push is Donna Simmons, who is within a point of #1 seed Ron Book.
Other match-ups still razor close are: #3 seed Robert Coker vs. #14 seed Teye Reeves; #6 seed Steve Metz vs. # 11 seed Mike Hightower; #6 seed Fred Karlinsky vs. # 11 seed Gary Guzzo; and #7 seed Jim Magill vs. #10 Allison Carvajal.
